Gay dancing cowboys and cowgirls from all over the US, Canada and the World. Weekend includes workshops/dance classes Friday and Saturday as well as open dancing, performances at night. Saturday has incredible dance competitions including couples, line and team dancing.br /

You can come for just the dancing or just the workshops too- check out the site for options.

Howdy folks, a friend & I are both trying to get to the DC hoedown on July 4th weekend, but since we are doing everything very last minute, we missed the cut-off for the discount rate on hotel rooms. We’re looking for rooming for the weekend from Friday to at least Sunday (preferably Monday morning). Does anyone happen to know of a reasonably affordable alternative hotel, or if anybody has to cancel their reservations? We’d appreciate any help with this, thanks muchly.

You might try the Washington Hilton, or Courtyard Marriot...both on Connecticut Avenue, and about a 5 minute walk to Dupont Circle metro station....fairly reasonable rates.
