I am a little rough around the edges pretty reserved, quiet, and conservative. Ask the people that know me best and they would tell you I am pretty laid back and very happy-go-lucky. I am the 6th generation of a texas cattle ranching family. I co-own and help run the family ranches and cow/calf operation. I grew up between our panhandle and south texas operations and have been in the panhandle the last several years. I grew up in a livestock enthusiest family, was very involved in 4-H and FFA, showed cattle and continued on to judge livestock in Jr. college at Clarendon, and in Sr. college at KSU. I am not a drug store cowboy, don't need boots,jeans a hat and big shiny buckle to stroke my ego, I can rope and ride just as well in sneekers and levis or shorts and flip flops as I can in boots and jeans. I think it is what is inside of a person that makes then who they are, not what they wear. Though my daily apperal generally consists of boots and jeans you can rest assured no matter what I am wearing, I can rope, ride, tie down, casturate, brand, dehorn, tattoo, tag, vaccinate, A.I., halter break, clip and fit with the best of them.

Three full well built rears stared back at McCallan as he held the hot iron cattle brand rod with both his hands waiting for the cowboys to move out from infront of him and expose a side of untamed Angus that they had pinned on the ground. Finally an opening... SIZZLE... The smell of hair and hide garnished a Rainbow Prairie Ranch image... and so the cow was released and bolted off in aimless direction. McCallan placed the iron back into the fire. The next doggie was not so tame. 1 cowpolk grabbed at a hoof and upangled the beast. He slid his bod under the head and pinned the animal down while lying on his back which showed off wranglers that seemed painted to his skin... McCallan watched this guy as every bulge and wrinkle of denim displayed a mans physique... and it warmed the blood of McCallan. He grabbed the hot iron brand still carrying the image of the young cowboy buck in his mind. Whap! The calf kicked and jumped free sending the iron back to its source... Scorced into the side of McCallan's chaps, just near the crotch was a Rainbow Prairie Ranch Brand!.... Austin, the young cowpup on the ground burst into laughter looking at his coworker... "Dangit" quipped McCallan... all around felt a moment of10sion release into friendship. "At least it didn't git your hide! remarked Austin. A day goes on the prairie just as long as the sun is up... The crew ajourned for the night. Everyone saddled up their steed and moved along familiar trails to their homes. Austin meandered up to McCallan pulling his gray mare alongside of McCallan... Austin smiled a broad lippy grin...then took his hand and moved it over McCallan's new brand... McCallan got that warm feeling again and smiled back. "You're part of the herd now McCallan" said Austin. "I think that's a herd I'd like to be a part of" he said to McCallan. McCallan smiled and said back "I've got an iron branding rod I can use on ya! hehe. Both cowboys felt the friendship that only2 men could feel.
