I've always been a cowboy wannabe, but grew up near Buffalo NY. I had a horse growing up, and did a lot of trail-riding with other kids in my town, watched 'westerns' on he TV, and generally felt cheated that I was born in the wrong place & wrong time.
I recently moved to fantastic Sunriver, bought a horse, and have started trail-riding some of the National Forest and BLM Trails in the area. I like Morgan Horses the best, but also enjoy other breeds as well. My mare is very green yet, so we are taking it pretty slow so far, with mostly walking and only a minimum of trotting and loping. When the ice gets off he trails, we should be ready to really get out and go!
I would like to connect/hook up with others in the area and learn more about riding, the cowboy way, an maybe even start learning some gymkhana events or rodeo activities.
