Im my opinion , DC's rodeo can't compete with the likes of OKC, Denver & Ft. Worth. I suppose it depends on what type of 'clientele' you enjoy, but I saw a lot of local DC guys who were obviously amazed that gay guys can be cowboys. Finger pointing, giggling, etc. Showing up in their club wear expecting a disco. That brings down the feel to me. The actual rodeo was above average, again not as whole as the others mentioned above. One downfall is that the rodeo ground is somewhat far out of the way in MD.

I've managed to attend 7 ASGRA rodeos, and think this was the best one all around. More competitors then in the recent past, which is always encouraging. Bothered however that more spectators choose to spend their time in the vendors/dance tent then in the grandstand cheering the rodeo competitors. The evening hotel dances were incredibily crowded always a good sign that folks are having a good time. But for us cowboys that unfortunately are not into country/western dance it's not much to do but stand around watch. Several years ago, they did have a second dance room for those us into club dancing. Wish they would bring that back. All in all had an awesome time and I'm sure to be back there again next year. I really liked the idea to have kids games involved, it really gets the whole family interacting and understand such a fun sport. I would like to see more food vendors there personnally. It was a very nice day for it and really had a good time. Thanks for those who took part in making it happen.
