While I was raised on a farm and have been around horses my entire life--I'm not sure I qualify as a real cowboy. I guess that depends on1s defintion of the term. I do ride well and am comfortable around both straight and gay cowboys. I've never lassoed1 critter but enjoy watching it be done--what a skill!! I enjoy doing long trailrides, including overnight camping. The gay rodeo circuit seems a bit "out there" to me. Much prefer "straight" rodeos--especially those small local types. I admire the true cowboys out there working cattle and mending fences. To me being a cowboy is much more than a hat and a pair of boots--it's the man under that hat and in those boots that make them a real man and a real cowboy.
