I have horses, have spent years traveling, riding, and at rodeos (mostly straight ones) in Texas,
AZ, NM, and Mexico. Love the people, the western and hispanic culture, and being on a horse in it all.
There is nothing like riding across a desert just after dawn, listening to the creaking of your saddle leathers or down a rocky canyon canyon at sunset, or enjoying the smell of burning pine and juniper watching the sparks from a fire trail off into the black night sky a million miles from nowhere. I love to lope down a wide sandy river bed fringed by the brilliant spring green of 100 foot tall Cottonwood trees. The clatter of hoofbeats on the old dusty cobblestone streets of tiny pueblas in Mexico also gives me goosebumps.
It may sound hokey and corney but if you have ever done any of this you know what I mean! It just dosent get any better than that.
Some of my favorite places in the world to ride are the Pinos Altos in the Gila wilderness area (NM), The Chiricahuas (AZ), Chihuahua just south of Texas, and the tralis over the mountains between Urique and Batopilas Canyons in Chihuahua, Mexico.
This is the most amazing site... I wish I had discovered it years ago.... I can't believe how many handsome gay cowboys there are in this world,,, yeee haaa
