I grew up in the far north on a farm where we raised cattle, chickens, ducks, not to mention huge gardens, etc. Most farms in my area where Dairy so no one was considered a "Cowboy" but simply a "Farmer". I have spent my education and a large part of my work career in the Veterinary/Animal husbandry related fields. I was raised on the value of hard work, self-relience, and honesty and those are characteristics often found in those who ranch or work the land for a living.
